Hey Y’all!

Morgan Tapp (she/her) is an actor and musician based in Brooklyn. Originally from St. Petersburg, FL, she’s a proud graduate of the University of Alabama at Birmingham where she received her BFA in Musical Theatre and a minor in English Literature.

Morgan is an artist that cultivates empathy. She aims to understand a plethora of feelings and perspectives that not only impact the art she makes, but that guide her own actions as well. Unlocking empathy within oneself opens doors to communication, compassion, and vulnerability, which is always her goal when creating, whether on her own or with collaborators. Incorporating her musicianship into her work as an actor is also vital to Morgan’s craft. Telling stories through and supported by music is a tradition that she’s forever grateful to be a small part of and is a key component of who she is as a creative.

Currently, Morgan is thrilled to return to American Stage, where she’ll be performing a new concert adaptation of the holiday classic, The Magi, music and lyrics by Eli Pafumi and book by Helen R. Murray. Other favorite credits include Hundred Days (Featured Musician), Once (Reza), Into The Woods (Baker’s Wife), and Pink Clouds (Alice), a new play by Pulitzer Prize winner John Archibald.

But wait! There’s more…

While the arts are a huge part of her life, there are many other things that make up Morgan’s patchwork! She loves to cook, recently began writing/blogging on Substack, and is an avid reader (currently reading Piranesi by Susanna Clarke). If you’re looking for someone who has a deep love for Cherry Coke, is currently on a mission to learn every Adrianne Lenker song on guitar, and can put on winged-eyeliner in less than 15 seconds, Morgan is your gal.

Stick around and explore a little :-)
